- 4 in 10 consumers buy sun care before going on holiday abroad. Only 4% buy it at the airport
- 1 in 5 consumers deem sun care too expensive
- The average consumer uses less than one bottle every summer
- Pharmacies and supermarkets are the main channels consumers use to buy sun care
- Just half of women and four in ten men use sun protection
- Under-25s are twice as likely as average not to wear sun protection
- Three in ten under-25s don’t use sunscreen in the UK (8 percentage points above average). 32% have been sunburnt in the last 12 months.
- Nearly one half of men admit to rarely using sunscreen, with 28% only using sunscreen when abroad (compared to only 16% of women)
